I have recently stumbled upon quite a sexy application thanks to one of the many TUAW posts. The app is called “Times,” developed by Dustin MacDonald and it’s a feed-reader. It’s not like the competitors NetNewsWire or Mail - it’s a real cool digital newspaper.
Flip it like a real newspaper
You can flip through pages and you can look at your favorite sections on different pages (like mines Technology). It has predefined feeds from CNN and other big Newspaper agencies - but you can drag and use your small feeds as well.
My guess is the app ain’t built for managing hundreds of feeds, but for those who are only interested in some (i.e.: subscribe to my feed!!!), the app really rocks! It looks good and it’s well built.
It’s hard to describe how the Cocoa effects really take place, so I think you can just take a look at it by visiting Dustin’s website. The app is called Times (thus my title) and it’s available for the bit-heavy 30$ (canadian).
I love the app - but the 30$ really make me think hard if it’s worth to buy it especially since there are many free feed-readers out there in the internet! If the price would be at 18,99$ then I’d have bought it straight - but now I have to think about it a bit! Though, since the dollar is weak right now, I’ll just take advantage of the strong Euro and buy the app! Enjoy it, it’s a rocking app!
Thanks Dustin for the image!

I don’t think the app is that great. I like NetNewsWire more…
