Oh isn’t this great? A german guy called Armin Heinrich (at least I suspect he’s german from the sound of his name) has an app on the iPhone App Store called “I Am Rich.” All the app does is … um … display a red gem. No hidden features or hacks whatsoever. But heres the thing: the app costs 1000$. :-D So if you’re rich enough, you can get it and show everyone how rich you are. Here is the description from the AppStore:
The red icon on your iPhone or iPod touch always reminds you (and others when you show it to them) that you were rich enough to afford this.
It’s a work of art with no hidden function at all
Though this isn’t the best of it yet, check out this screenshot of a comment in the App Store. Someone actually bought it!
Now, there are only two piece of advice I can give to the poor guy who bought it:
- Don’t buy the Platinum or Gold Upgrade … ROFL
- Show the world that you are the only man in the world who can afford (or be cool enough) to buy this app. Show them!
I am actually a bit disappointed that Apple removed the App from the Store. The app doesn’t violate anything so it should be kept there … if the author insists that it stays. And I think the author should insist, cause there are a lot of rich people around here in the world who will buy it! :-D

I saw this magnificent, impressive and stunning spectacle on the launch day yesterday in New York … watch it!!!
Let’s make a short review here
- Let’s quote the joker: “Why so serious?” That sentence is a drug
- “See, to them, you’re just a freak. Like me!” another great Joker quote! :-D
- “Let’s put a smile on that facah.” Isn’t it amazing how Ledger puts this accent on the last letters of a sentence?
- Best actor is Heath Ledger! May he rest in peace.
- Dislikes? The plastic-looking Batpod (Batmans motorcycle)
- Long time until the next movie!
Darn I want to see this movie again.

It’s been a year since Apple introduced the very first version of the iPhone. My own iPhone is about 4 months old. It’s still in good shape and I love it more than any other Apple product and phone on the market (and MP3 player).
iPhone is exclusively distributed by T-Mobile in Germany. During the time the first iPhone was available in Germany, the prices were way to high. By now, the prices are in the range of that of the other countries. Though, the prices back then forced me to get an iPhone via eBay and get it jailbreaked (and unlocked). It worked quite well as the tools were there already and I didn’t experience any problems.
A unlocked 3G iPhone??? Don’t think so…
Although it’s just 2 days after the iPhone 3G launch, I have a feeling that the jailbreaking and unlocking won’t succeed this time. There are rumors about the iPhone Dev Team bringing out a tool (via Gizmodo) … but will that do it? You can’t buy the iPhone no more in any shop without directly signing up with a contract. Bad!
Pondering goes on…
So … I am pondering between waiting for the jailbreak tool and running the 2.0 software on my existing iPhone (unlocked), or just getting a new iPhone from T-Mobile (with contract). If I’d go with a contract (29€ a month) I end up with about 1000€ including the 16GB white iPhone for 24 months. Darn that’s expensive. Or get another jailbreaked iPhone 3G via eBay for 249€?
In the meantime, I’ll just have to wait and not update to the sexy 2.0 software. :-D

As we are coming closer and closer to July 11th, Apple is pushing and updating their Developers Tools for the 8th time. The second generation iPhone with third-party applications is coming out and people want to have a working tool to build such applications. The tools, which are Leopard-only, are still in beta - but who cares! It’s all about the cool stuff that you can do and build for the iPhone.
I’m downloading it right now:

Let’s check it out and if you haven’t clicked the download button, the better do as it takes it’s time. :-D

Getting a nicer look and seeming to work like a charm. Though, Sorry FireFox team, I’m staying with the good old Safari browser. :-D
